Passengers on a Qantas Airbus A380 travelling from Melbourne to Los Angeles created an unexpected stopover in Sydney immediately after the crew recognized a specialized fault.

Flight QF93 departed Melbourne on Thursday morning and was heading north when the crew observed a loss of engine oil which expected the engine to be established to idle.
