Sit back, relax, and enjoy the video! Credit to National Geographic for this awesome documentary. The Boeing 747-8 is Boeing’s latest addition to the 747 family, with the new wings which were borrowed from the Boeing 787, the -8 is a great looking plane. Powered by four GEnx -2B 787 technology engines, the 747-8 can travel the length of three soccer/football fields in one second! The -8’s tail is as tall as an average 6 story city building with a height of 63 feet 6 inches.

  1. While the Dash 8 is a technical marvel, and any efforts to reduce the environmental impact of air travel are admirable, referring to any jet aircraft as "green" in any aspect other than the colour of its paintwork is pure marketing wank.

  2. boeing has lowered is standerds look at the new 787 dreamliner soon as it was delivered to other nation it had a lot of problems even the workman that work on the plane said they would not feel safe flying in a boeing

  3. The 747 never lost its crown! Always will be the queen of the skies. Never lost it to some cheap-junk-knockoff-copy cat double decker!

  5. I watched this again. I have flown everywhere in North America but never had the pleasure of flying in a 747. Business friends have told me it is the best. Quiet, and comfortable.

  6. As 'advanced' as it is supposed to be the 747 -8 is a dated design though… Looks sooo retro 1960s. Why continue with this 'hump'? The A380 is not a nice design either… the chunky cockpit area on the A380 looks terrible, lacks imagination and should have been more streamlined.

  7. Regardless of what A380 brings in our modern era of aviation,747 will forever linger in our mind.
Those who have done much air voyage will testify that by far 747 has been the mother and queen of flight for over 40 years.A380 still struggles to impress us today
