In 1969 the Boeing 747 roared into history with it’s first test flight. Joe Sutter was the chief engineer behind the project. The 747 is one of the most successful commercial airliners in history and still considered the favorite by many passengers and pilots, over 1,600 have been produced. PTP produced this video with the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum for the annual Trophy Awards give to the best is aerospace and flight engineering. Joe Sutter was awarded the honor.
