A BRITISH Airways flight was pressured to return to Heathrow immediately after struggling suspected motor failure with an onlooker reporting flames coming from an motor.

The Boeing 777 turned back again minutes immediately after getting off from the West London airport at about 1.44pm now and has since landed safely and securely.

Flight monitoring provider AirNav reveals the flight doubling back again above Kent.

AirLive tweeted: “British Airways Boeing 777 (reg. G-VIIH) returning to Heathrow with motor #two shut down.”

A person onlooker stated they noticed flames coming from the suitable motor when a 2nd claimed it was the outcome of a fowl strike.

British Airways has not confirmed the trigger of the unexpected emergency.

A spokesperson stated: “The flight landed safely ​after returning to the airport, and our highly trained engineers are investigating what occurred.

“The protection of our customers and crew is constantly our priority.”
