A new route by Qatar Airways now takes the title for the World’s longest Flight.

After a 16 hour journey from Doha, Qatar Airways flight 920 touched down at Auckland Airport earlier today, welcomed with a water salute.

This route has also taken the title of the World’s longest route, by great circle distance. This return flight, at a scheduled 17 hours 30 minutes, will be World’s longest Flight.
The Boeing 777-200LR operating the round trip flight between Doha and Auckland covers 29,066 kilometers.

I can easily deal with it, I always fly Melbourne Dubai for 15 hours and then another 7 to London and then another flight a hour to Berlin cause its cheaper that way and I do that every six months and I fly my self with QANTAS and now 16 hour flights are normal to me and I see everyone complaining

  3. This is the longest flight in terms of flight time ie duration. The record for the longest flight in terms of distance is held by Air India – New Delhi to San Francisco.

  5. What a great catch, this 777 looks gorgeous with the GE-90s! I am not sure if it is that comfortable to be onboard a plane for 17 hours without any stopover, but it is definitely interesting to see these long flights! Excellent camera work mate, liked a lot! 🙂
