I heart space but sometimes it can be hard to comprehend. I try to fix that in this video with junk you can find lying around your house. Also, if you’ve wondered how there could be a ninth planet that we’ve never noticed till now I try to clear that up too by demonstrating just how impossibly far away it is.

Here’s a great example of a Squarespace website about taking long exposure shots of the stars:

Make your own scale model of the Solar System using this spreadsheet I made. If you put in the size of the object you’re using for a Sun it will scale everything else for you:

0:08- Berlin- Andrew Applepie-
0:47- I’m So- Andrew Applepie-
1:32- The Ocean- Andrew Applepie-
5:46- Berlin- Andrew Applepie-
6:14- Special song written just fo my bad self- Lincoln Hoppe,
7:00- The Ocean- Andrew Applepie-
8:52- Birds Don’t Sing- TV Girl-

I make videos like this once a month all year long while supplies last:

  1. So there is a very strong chance that there are other intelligent living species live in the universe
Note how I say intelligent. There are probably lots of life,we haven't discovered any in our tiny corner of space (which is like one million of those images with all the galaxies at: 7:28 — and remember how small he said that image was on a coin) but a tiny, tiny percentage of that life is intelligent. Just think about it. There may be between 2 – 300,000 other intelligent living species in the entire universe, But we haven't even found one of them in our 'corner' (I explained what the corner is previously). And probably only 0.00000000001% of these 'corners' have intelligent life. Now think how big the universe is. It's too big time even think about, my brain is hurting just thinking about it.

  2. How is planet 9 the size of a pea? You said it was 10x bigger than the Earth. If the Earth is a pinhead, 10x bigger would be a little bigger than a pea…

  3. u worked at NASA for years and yet the coolest thing u know about space is there are more stars in the observable universe than there are grains of sand on earth?

We know there are more atoms in a glass of water than there are stars in the observable universe…

  4. Great video but I feel that discounting other videos because of their 'abstraction' was unnecessary and started what seems to be a pretty positive video on a negative note that kind of soured the whole thing for me.

  5. The crazy thing is to neptune it takes a couple of hours for light to reach that distance. Planet 9 could take maybe around 1-2 days for light to reach it. The milky way would take over 100 thousand years to reach the other side and 2 million years to reach the andromeda.

  6. Outstanding! Both factually informative, and a really creative use of aerial imaging. Great!

  7. Check out, Sweden Solar System, it's our solar system as large as Sweden. "The globe", an arena for events is the sun, the earth and moon are at the national history museum and the rest of the planets are spread out across Sweden.
