Last night (August 25, 2017) I had the opportunity to attend "Ode Bulan August" which to 3. The event is one of the activities by Kompas Gramedia in order to celebrate the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia to 72, and Kompas Gramedia's 54th anniversary. August "was conceived as an expression of the love of the homeland, an attempt to arouse the spirit of nationalism, through the songs performed in the choir.
The implementation of "Ode Bulan August" was held in four cities by Bentara Budaya namely Bentara Budaya Bali on August 15, 2017, Bentara Budaya Jakarta 24 – 25 August 2017, Balai Soedjatmoko or Bentara Budaya Solo August 19, 2017, And Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta August 26, 2017.
And last night, along with Mas Eddy Hasby (KOMPAS) and Mas I Gede Sidharta Putra Dharma (JAKARTA POST), we tried one of the features provided by DJI GO app using DJI Mavic Pro to broadcast activities "Ode August" which took place at Bentara Budaya Jakarta, which features live stream .
Actually live streaming with nirawak rides is not something new, but last night live streaming using DJI Mavic Pro spacecraft was the first time we did. There are various options for live streaming with DJI products can be done with various DJI products, for example Lightbridge is currently in second generation
Since last night it was a trial only, so the preparation we did was really rough. So if the results are as simple as possible, please understand 🙂
Since the live broadcast last night was aired via the internet, the main requirement required was a good internet connection. However, due to the quality of Telkomsel's connection (and possibly other operators as well) right at the Bentara Budaya Jakarta location is not too good, so several times our trial failed. Fortunately there is Mas Vicci Fitralaya (KOMPAS TV) who is willing to lend his mobile modem to an overnight test.
Since I missed the night screen shot DJI GO screen then this morning I try to fly again to get screen shot . Stages on screen shots here I do in sequence. Hopefully with the following visual explanation, you can more easily understand the procedure.
For all Broadcast Platform we are required to Sign In first.

Overnight conditions are not yet ideal for live streaming . Some of my notes are:
- A fairly narrow flying location
- Many trees as well obstacle others
- Features Obstacle Sensor Avoidance can not be maximally used
- Features Visual Positioning System can not be used maximum
- The wind speed is quite fluctuating and taut
- The quality of internet connection is not too good
Location landing and take off which is also too narrow
Under such conditions, it requires me to fly quite low; About 4 to 6 meters from the ground level (according to the height of calculations of the IMU). In addition, the light beam of lighting stage often interferes with concentration when monitoring the movement drone. And because I fly alone (DJI Mavic Pro can also be used by 2 operators simultaneously), then I must monitor the movement of the drone the wind direction and the height position of his Mavic is quite unstable because the VPS is not working optimally .
The most notes to my attention are the circumstances that require me to be very careful and not to take unnecessary risks, is because I fly very low and the drone position is right above the Audience. And at that time, the drone that I used often ascending and descending by itself. It is certainly not highly recommended and is actually prohibited.
Result Live Streaming
After doing a few tests, we're pretty satisfied with the results. Although not too perfect, but hopefully the following results can give you an example of live streaming using DJI Mavic Pro.
And footage which I took this following morning.
For those of you who have other experiences or other methods, and would like to add and correct the information contained in this article please yes.
